ABOUT VIRGINIA STING GIRLS FAST PITCH SOFTBALL
Sting Girls Fast Pitch Softball Organization formally known as Southside Sting was established in 1998 by the late Edward Stewart Smither, Jr. of Suffolk, Virginia.
Sting Girls Fast Pitch Softball is a non-profit organization based out of the Hampton Roads area in Southeastern Virginia. We are one of the oldest and longest-running softball organizations in the area.
Sting Girls Fast Pitch is a structured organization administered by board members and hard-working parents who volunteer to uphold organizational by-laws and ensure the organization adheres to state regulations.
We proudly field competitive travel teams from ages 10 to 18 regardless of race, creed, religion, national origin, or ancestry. Our teams are well funded with bingo revenues and generous donations from our sponsors. Our teams compete nationally at the highest level across several sanctioned softball associations up and down the east coast.
The goal is to teach, coach, and guide young ladies in the fundamentals of fast pitch softball, team play, and good sportsmanship. We instill maturity and personal growth within a positive environment both on and off the field helping girls achieve their highest competitive level of fast pitch softball so they are better prepared to succeed at a higher standard in high school, college, and life.
